“During the reporting period, fiscal discipline was maintained, and the indicators of the budget rule were implemented within the upper limits.”
This was stated by Minister of Finance Sahil Babayev at today's plenary session of the Milli Majlis during the discussion of the draft law “On the execution of the state budget for 2025”.
Noting that a positive dynamic in the field of public debt management was maintained, the minister stated that as of June 1, 2026, the public debt was 24.1 billion manats or 18.4 percent of GDP: “This indicator decreased by 11.9 percent compared to the beginning of the year. The average repayment period of government bonds reaching 3.8 years, and the increase in the share of 7 and 10-year bonds in the debt portfolio indicates an improvement in the quality of the portfolio.”
The minister also emphasized that the assets of the State Oil Fund as of January 1, 2026, increased by 13.5 billion US dollars, reaching 73.5 billion US dollars, which allows for the creation of a strong long-term buffer for macroeconomic stability and development.
