Visa requirement between Azerbaijan and Maldives abolished

The domestic procedures necessary for the entry into force of the "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Maldives on mutual exemption from visa requirements for citizens holding ordinary passports", signed in New York on September 24, 2025, have been completed.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed Modern.az about this.

Accordingly, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the agreement, the document enters into force on April 29, 2026.

According to the agreement, citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan holding valid ordinary passports and citizens of the Republic of Maldives holding valid ordinary passports are exempted from visa requirements for entering, leaving or transiting through the territory of the other party's state, as well as for staying in that territory for a period not exceeding 90 (ninety) days from the date of entry.
