21 people were detained by the State Border Service for violating the state border during June 2026.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by the Press Center of the State Border Service.
It was reported that 8 of them were citizens of Azerbaijan, 5 of Iran, 2 of Afghanistan, and 6 of Nigeria;
As a result of measures to combat illegal migration, 8 people attempting to cross the state border with a falsified date stamp and passport, or with documents belonging to another person, were detained;
25 people were detained for violating border regime rules and appropriate measures were taken against them;
As a result of measures to combat crime, 330 people wanted by law enforcement agencies were detained and handed over to the relevant authorities, 825 people prohibited from leaving the country were prevented from doing so, and 32 people prohibited from entering the country were prevented from entering;
As a result of measures to combat illegal drug trafficking, 229 kilograms 974 grams of narcotic substances and 9200 pills of various compositions were discovered and removed from circulation (in 6 cases, 47 kilograms 6 grams of narcotic substances and 2000 psychotropic pills were found via unmanned aerial vehicles)
As a result of measures to combat smuggling, contraband with a total value of 4 million 830 thousand 558 manats, including medicines, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, was discovered and seized.
