The fourth day of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku has started.

Modern.az reports that on the fourth day of the forum, co-organized by the UN Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) and the Government of Azerbaijan, various discussions will be held on urban planning, climate change, inclusive urban development, and social sustainability.

The day's program includes the transformation of informal settlements and slums, climate and housing relations, urban development prospects, urban economy, and social inclusivity among the main topics.

Within the framework of the forum, events such as "Transformation of Informal Settlements", "Climate-Housing Connection", "SPECA Cities Forum", "Housing Practice Azerbaijan" and "IDEA Forum - Clean Air" are planned.

In addition, round table discussions will be organized on business and urban development, the role of older persons in urban life, the integration of persons with disabilities into the urban environment, as well as the participation of parliamentarians in the urban planning process.

The program for the fourth day also included special sessions on "Cities as a playground", "Rethinking cultural heritage and inclusive urban regeneration", "Development of waste management towards a circular economy" and "Development of urban climate heritage".

The sessions will discuss the role of ecological sustainability, cultural heritage preservation, inclusive urban policies, and circular economy models in the future development of cities.

It should be noted that in previous days of the forum, discussions were held on the global housing crisis, sustainable urban development, digital urban solutions, climate finance, safe and inclusive cities, as well as the restoration of war-affected areas.

Within the framework of WUF13, reconstruction projects implemented in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, as well as "smart city", "smart village" and "green energy zone" concepts are also presented to international participants.

For information, WUF13, covering May 17-22, is being held in Baku with the joint organization of the UN Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) and the Government of Azerbaijan.
