This Sunday, the first attempt of the entrance exam to higher education institutions for the III specialty group will be held. The III specialty group consists of two subgroups: DT (Language-History) and TC (History-Geography).
One of the most interesting issues for those preparing for this group is the passing scores.
Modern.az reports that "AzEdu.az" compared the passing scores of the TC subgroup for universities for the years 2023-2025:
A comparison of the passing scores for "International Relations" and "Regional Studies" specialties in the TC subgroup of the III specialty group at Baku State University for the years 2023-2025 shows that there was high interest in both specialties. The passing score for "International Relations" was 377.0 in 2023, 361.5 in 2024, and 376.5 in 2025. Thus, an increase of 15 points was observed in 2025 compared to 2024.
In the program taught in English, the passing score was 441.6 in 2023, 446.2 in 2024, and 481.5 in 2025. An increase of 35.3 points was recorded in this program over the last two years.
Passing scores in the "Regional Studies" specialty varied by direction. In "Regional Studies (for America)", the passing score was 321.6 in 2023, 318.8 in 2024, and 320.5 in 2025, and no significant change was observed in the overall result.
In the program for America taught in English, the passing score was 332.6 in 2023, 368.5 in 2024, and 382.8 in 2025. An increase of 50.2 points was observed here between 2023 and 2025.
In regional studies for Korea, the passing score was 321.0 in 2023, 333.5 in 2024, but dropped to 306.3 in 2025. This indicated a decrease of 27.2 points in the last year.
In regional studies for Turkey, the passing score was 274.1 in 2023, 293.5 in 2024, and 297.4 in 2025, with an overall increase of 23.3 points.
Increases were also recorded in other regional studies directions. In the program for Iran, the passing score increased from 170.8 to 216.5, with an increase of 45.7 points.
In the program for Pakistan, an increase from 178.8 to 224.7 was observed, and the increase was 45.9 points.
In regional studies for Arab countries, the passing score increased from 186.4 to 231.0, and an increase of 44.6 points was recorded.
A comparison of the passing scores for "International Relations" specialty in the TC subgroup of the III specialty group at Azerbaijan State University of Economics for the years 2024-2025 shows that an increase was observed in both programs. In the "International Relations" specialty taught in Azerbaijani, the passing score was 370.7 in 2024, while it was 397.6 in 2025. Thus, an increase of 26.9 points was recorded within one year.
In the "International Relations" program taught in Turkish, the passing score was 334.9 in 2024 and 364.5 in 2025. An increase of 29.6 points was also observed in this program.
A comparison of the passing scores for "International Relations" and "Regional Studies" specialties in the TC subgroup of the III specialty group at Azerbaijan University of Languages for the years 2023-2025 shows that an increase was observed in most specialties in recent years. In the "International Relations" specialty, the passing score was 354.5 in 2023, 349.1 in 2024, and 363.8 in 2025. Thus, an increase of 14.7 points was recorded in 2025 compared to 2024. In the program taught in English, the passing score was 404.3 in 2023, 415.4 in 2024, and 425.3 in 2025, with an overall increase of 21 points.
Among the "Regional Studies" specialties, the highest passing scores were in the programs for Germany, America, and Turkey. In the "Regional Studies (for Germany)" program, the passing score was 274.9 in 2023, 306.7 in 2024, and 316.5 in 2025, with an overall increase of 41.6 points. In the "for America" program, the passing score increased from 262.5 to 286.3, and an increase of 23.8 points was recorded. In the program for America taught in English, the score was 238.0 in 2024 and 327.7 in 2025, with an increase of 89.7 points within one year.
In regional studies for Turkey, the passing score was 268.1 in 2023, 272.2 in 2024, and 279.8 in 2025, with an overall increase of 11.7 points. In the program for Great Britain, the passing score increased from 249.8 to 270.9, with an increase of 21.1 points. In the program for Great Britain taught in English, the passing score in 2025 was 282.7.
In regional studies for Japan, the passing score was 209.9 in 2023, 262.3 in 2024, and 241.7 in 2025. In this direction, an initial increase of 52.4 points was observed, followed by a decrease of 20.6 points.
In the program for China, the passing score increased from 191.1 to 242.7, and an increase of 51.6 points was recorded. In the program for Norway, an increase from 214.0 to 245.4 was observed, and the increase was 31.4 points.
Various changes were also observed in other regional studies directions. In the program for Israel and the Middle East, the passing score increased from 188.6 to 207.3, with an increase of 18.7 points.
In the program for South America, an increase from 190.4 to 231.0 was observed, and the increase was 40.6 points. In regional studies for Africa, the passing score increased from 172.9 to 197.3, and an increase of 24.4 points was recorded. In the program for Pakistan, an increase from 165.5 to 197.8 was observed, and this indicator was 32.3 points.
A comparison of the passing scores for "International Relations" and "Regional Studies" specialties in the TC subgroup of the III specialty group at Baku Slavic University for the years 2023-2025 shows that an increase was observed in most specialties in recent years. In the "International Relations" specialty, the passing score was 316.6 in 2023, 327.8 in 2024, and 348.0 in 2025. Thus, an increase of 31.4 points was recorded over three years. In the part-time education form, the passing score was 200.0 in 2023, 224.6 in 2024, and returned to 200.0 in 2025. Although this indicator increased in 2024, it returned to its previous level in 2025.
Among the "Regional Studies" specialties, the highest passing score was in the program for Germany. In the "Regional Studies (for Germany)" program, the passing score was 210.5 in 2023, 229.7 in 2024, and 225.3 in 2025. An overall increase of 14.8 points was observed in this direction. In regional studies for Turkey, the passing score was 200.9 in 2023, 211.1 in 2024, and 214.8 in 2025, with an overall increase of 13.9 points.
In regional studies for Russia, the passing score was 183.8 in 2023, 198.8 in 2024, and 199.7 in 2025, with an overall increase of 15.9 points. In the program for Belarus, the passing score increased from 177.6 to 198.3, and an increase of 20.7 points was observed. In regional studies for Azerbaijan, the passing score increased from 199.2 to 213.4, and an increase of 14.2 points was recorded.
In the program for Balkan countries, the passing score was 174.8 in 2023, 197.8 in 2024, and 195.4 in 2025. In this direction, an initial increase was observed, followed by a slight decrease. In the program for Caspian countries, the passing score increased from 185.1 to 205.7, with an increase of 20.6 points. In regional studies for Bulgaria, the passing score increased from 165.7 to 192.2, and an increase of 26.5 points was recorded.
In the program for Greece, the passing score increased from 167.9 to 192.0, and an increase of 24.1 points was observed. In regional studies for the Czech Republic, the passing score was 190.4 in 2024 and 203.5 in 2025, with an increase of 13.1 points within one year. In the program for Ukraine, the score was 186.5 in 2024 and 202.7 points in 2025, with an increase of 16.2 points. In regional studies for Poland, the passing score was 201.0 in 2024 and 204.7 in 2025, with an increase of 3.7 points.
A comparison of the passing scores for "International Relations" specialty in the TC subgroup of the III specialty group at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the years 2023-2025 shows that interest in this specialty has significantly increased in recent years. The passing score was 433.3 in 2023, 464.1 in 2024, and 507.2 in 2025.
Thus, an increase of 30.8 points was observed between 2023 and 2024, and 43.1 points between 2024 and 2025. Overall, the passing score increased by 73.9 points in the last three years.
A comparison of the passing scores for the English-taught program of "International Relations" specialty in the TC subgroup of the III specialty group at ADA University for the years 2023-2025 shows that interest in this specialty has rapidly increased in recent years. The passing score was 419.0 in 2023, 486.4 in 2024, and 538.5 in 2025.
Thus, an increase of 67.4 points was observed between 2023 and 2024, and 52.1 points between 2024 and 2025. Overall, the passing score increased by 119.5 points in the last three years.
A comparison of the passing scores for "International Relations" specialty in the TC subgroup of the III specialty group at Nakhchivan State University for the years 2023-2025 shows that an overall increase was observed in both programs.
In the "International Relations" specialty taught in Azerbaijani, the passing score was 200.0 in 2023, 269.3 in 2024, and 280.3 in 2025. In this direction, an increase of 69.3 points was recorded between 2023 and 2024, and 11.0 points between 2024 and 2025. Overall, an increase of 80.3 points was observed in the last three years.
In the program taught in English, the passing score was 200.0 in 2023, 295.9 in 2024, and 286.1 in 2025. Here, an increase of 95.9 points was observed between 2023 and 2024, and a decrease of 9.8 points between 2024 and 2025. Nevertheless, an overall increase of 86.1 points was recorded.

The passing score was 150.0 in 2023, 168.9 in 2024, and 181.8 in 2025. Thus, an increase of 18.9 points was recorded between 2023 and 2024, and 12.9 points between 2024 and 2025. Overall, the passing score increased by 31.8 points in the last three years.
