After yesterday's master's exam, dissatisfaction increased on social networks due to rainy weather conditions and traffic congestion caused by the WUF13 event. Many candidates reported being late for the exam, experiencing stress, and that this affected their results.

Speaking to Modern.az on the matter, education researcher Elmin Nuri believes that the most correct step the State Examination Center should have taken was to postpone the exams:

“I think the best thing the State Examination Center could have done during yesterday's master's exams would have been to postpone them. Many say that the exam times could have been changed. But I don't think moving the hours a little forward or backward would solve the problem. Force majeure weather conditions and an international event held in the country created serious congestion in the road and transport system.”

He stated that thousands of bachelors being late for the exam and the anxiety they experienced could not go unnoticed in the results:

“In such a situation, thousands of bachelors being late for the exam and the anxiety they experienced would definitely show in the exam results. There were other problems caused by the rainy weather. People took the exam with their feet in water for 3.5 hours. It is very difficult to expect high results in such conditions.”

Elmin Nuri noted that some people could not participate in the exam at all due to the weather conditions:

“There were people I personally knew who gave up taking the exam altogether due to the weather conditions. There were people who, while going to the exam, turned back at the last minute because they were in water up to their knees.”

The education researcher believes that the situation created serious psychological tension in the candidates and this factor can directly affect the results:

“This creates a lot of stress and anxiety. The exams should have been postponed altogether and the force majeure situation should have been compensated on another date. I think this would be the most correct step to take. Even now it's not too late. A step can be taken to re-conduct the exams.”
