Regions with the most and fewest mosques - LIST

The total number of mosques currently existing in Azerbaijan is 2,387.

Information on this was provided by the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations in response to an inquiry from Modern.az. 

It was reported that the number of mosques in our republic varies by region. The highest number of mosques in our country is located in the Lankaran-Astara region (612 mosques), while the lowest number of mosques is in the Gazakh-Tovuz region (30 mosques). There are 147 mosques in Baku city.

According to the information, significant work is currently being carried out in different regions of the country, including Karabakh and East Zangazur, towards the restoration of religious monuments and the construction of new places of worship.
