In the first 4 months of 2026, a total of about 90 organ transplantations were carried out in Azerbaijan.
This was reported to Modern.az by the Coordination Center for Organ Donation and Transplantation in response to an inquiry, stating that more than 10 of the operations performed were carried out thanks to cadaveric donors.
According to the information, men predominated in the gender distribution of transplanted patients. Thus, approximately 60 of the operated persons were men, and about 30 were women.
According to statistics by age groups, about 20 of the people who received organ transplants were in the 0-18 age range. Approximately 20 people in the 18-35 age group underwent transplantation.
The most transplantations were recorded in the 35-50 age range. More than 35 patients in this age group underwent surgery. The number of people over 50 years old was about 10.
