Armenia is considering the possibility of gradually replacing Russian border guards.
Modern.az reports that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made this statement to journalists during a briefing.
According to him, Armenian border guards will be deployed in various sections of the border with Iran and Turkey as the country's capabilities increase.
Pashinyan noted that Armenia currently pays Russia for border protection services, and in some cases, the Russian side has raised the issue of increasing these payments.
The Prime Minister stated that as state resources expand, Armenian border guards can take control of more territory, while the Russian side can continue its activities within a financial framework acceptable to Armenia.
