The countries that sent the most tourists among foreigners and stateless persons who visited Azerbaijan for tourism purposes in January-May 2026 have been announced.
Modern.az reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that during this period, most tourists came to Azerbaijan from the Russian Federation. Thus, 178,319 people from the neighboring country visited Azerbaijan for tourism purposes.
Turkey ranks second in the list. 87,133 people came to Azerbaijan from the brotherly country.
Kazakhstan (31,487 people) and India (23,660 people) also took place in the top five.
Thus, Russia and Turkey maintained their leadership as the countries that sent the most tourists to Azerbaijan in the first five months of 2026.
