As we reported, the interview procedure for students who want to study in another language in public schools has been approved starting from the next academic year.
Modern.az reports that interviews for admission to the 1st grade will be held once a year in May-June of the current year, and interviews for grades II-XI will be held twice a year in August of the current year and January of the following year.
An announcement regarding the interviews will be published on the official website of the Ministry or local departments and in the media at least 1 (one) month before the start of the interviews. The interview will be conducted for at least 20 minutes with video recording, with the consent of the applicant.
During the interview, the student's listening and comprehension skills, coherent speaking ability, vocabulary, understanding and pronunciation of letters and sounds, speaking ability, and writing ability will be checked.
A child (student) who scores 12 or more points in the interview is considered to have successfully passed the interview.
The result of the interview is sent to the applicant's electronic cabinet within 5 (five) working days from the date it was held. The applicant is allowed to observe the interview process without external interference. For children who do not participate in the interview for admission to the 1st grade due to valid reasons (confirmed by official documents – accident, natural and emergency situations, illness, treatment of the child and (or) applicant, applicant's business trip), interviews will be organized in August of the current year.
It should be noted that the interviews are conducted by the Ministry of Education of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic or the local departments of the State Agency for Preschool and General Education under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, respectively.(Trend.az)
