Work has begun on the construction of a cable car in Heydar Aliyev Park in Balakan city.
The Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) informed Modern.az about this.
It was reported that the existing cable car is already being dismantled. In the initial stage, all technological and electrical equipment of the cable line's ropes, lower and upper terminals were dismantled. Currently, the terminal buildings are being dismantled.
According to the design, the Balakan cable car will be 850 meters long and 53 meters high. The travel time by cable car will be approximately 4 minutes. It will be possible to transport 330 passengers per hour with 6 cabins.
It should be noted that the Balakan cable car project was approved by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 8, 2025, "On measures related to the design and construction of a passenger cable car in Heydar Aliyev Park in Balakan region." The implementation of the project will contribute to the development of tourism infrastructure in the region and the creation of new opportunities for visitors.
